Any list of significant movies in surround sound has to include Point Break because it made the market for the technology. We old guys watched it dozens of times - including again last night. My first surround sound system cost $3500 including built in speakers in the ceiling and walls but it was a great advance in home theater. The “system” included the amp(s), speakers controls and wiring but the video set up was a wholly different matter.

I love the short comparison additions. very interesting. Would be nice if every experienced reviewer did that. Thank you. The 606 S3 seems like it could very well end up in my living room.

I love music - I have had pair of these for 5 years and they have provided a great listening experience (a whole new depth to music really) to a wide range of my favourite music from different genres classic rock pop folk hip hop heavy metal alternative punk you get the drift the depth of sound is amazing from these speakers. At all reasonable volumes (15 to 55 on the dial) the clarity is sharp I am glad I bought them. Your great review confirms this as a great purchase for my first escapade into hi fidelity sound. My friend owns more expensive speakers and hard to tell the improvement. Thanks for taking the time to review this speaker

Great overview, just a little nit-pick: "What’s not to like about FLAC: Not compatible with iTunes."

Let's be honest, it's not FLAC's task to be compatible with programs. They've put out the file format and specs for everybody to implement, for free and open source. It's Apple's choice not to include FLAC support in their software. So a more honest "What's not to like" would be "Not supported by iTunes".

I have a humble pair of MDR-7506 cans running thru a Scarlett Solo, but the audiophile manual settings are excellent! Running at about half volume on the Solo (which is very loud) with Spotify set to Quiet. Really love it!

For my phone (just apple headphones or AirPods), I use the Rock setting since I listen to mostly varieties of rock and pop, but Classical was great too. Thanks so much! Highly recommend this article to anyone and everyone who uses Spotify!

In reply to <a href="https://aphroditesound.com/elac-debut-2-0-b52-review/#comment-4995">Steve Colley</a>.

Hi Steve, That's right. The B6.2 comes with all the benefits of a bigger woofer: a better bass response and improved midrange, as you said. Personally I like the B5.2 more: I find them more enveloping and vibrant, but if you have a large room, you'll either need a sub or opt for the B6.2. I think they're both great for the price, and if you can, I'd suggest you try them both.

Hi! The Evo4.4 can take a long time to reach their full potential. You might need to let them break in for 75-100 hours to really get a fuller bass experience. In my experience, they balance sound quite well, but if you're after a deeper bass even after 100 hours of listening, move them around a little to see if room placement is the issue.

I have evo 4.4 with yamaha r-n800a. Why the bass is anemic?they need to break in ? I tried even Bi-wiring with SVS cable capable.

What is the difference, in your opinion, between the 5.2 and the 6.2? They’re essentially the same speaker with the 6.2 having a larger woofer. Seems to me that would help with an improved midrange. But I’m no expert that’s for sure but I’m looking at the Elacs for the Cambridge AXR85 I have.
